Personal Reflections:  Since my last post, I turned 37 (Aug 12).  I'm finding a new "Moses" emerging though. "This dude here" is more on purpose, driven, more empowered, compassionate, but his boundaries are firmer. He articulates what he does and doesn't like with greater clarity and sooner; plus he's not sacrificing himself for that which is not his to own. I like him!  I think he'll stay around for a bit. SMILE.  (Also, Happy Birthday to both my mom and dad this month!)

Just got back from Capital BookFest in Harrisburg, PA.  Attendance was low, but the opportunity to network and meet other authors was enriching. It's not ALWAYS about the money, but about the relationships!  A shout out to Keisa, Denise, Lorraine, Phyllis, and Virginia "Anne" Schober & the girls"(smile) who I met there. Anne is one of the Freedom Writers (http://www.freedomwriters.com) and does amazing work with her students.

I See the Handwriting on the Wall: Did you all notice that Terry McMillan's new book is entitled, "Getting to Happy" and one of my latest works is "i FOUGHT to be THIS happy"? I'm telling you there is something about the journey to defining and redefining happiness for oneself that is necessary to be told now. Buy both of our books today! Congrats Ms. McMillan.
